- This 19-room mansion was built in stages - back-to-front - over a 50-year period beginning in the 1840s. Architect George Barnett designed it as a summer home for John and Sophia Vogel. Vogel had paid $8085 for the lot and spent this home for $15,000. The building became a rooming house in the 1920s, containing 13 two-room apartments.
